Submitting a Daily Opinion Service Search

The Daily Opinion Service in the LexisNexisTM service provides daily cite lists of recent case decisions for all Federal and State appellate and high courts nationwide. To view one or more cite lists, complete the source selection form as follows:

Select Courts.
Select (click on) one or more jurisdictions associated with one or more courts. To select more than one jurisdiction, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on multiple jurisdictions. If you mistakenly click the wrong jurisdiction, click the Clear button at the bottom of the form and make your selections again.

EXAMPLE:  To view cite lists for the U.S. Supreme Court and for the state courts of Alaska and Ohio, click on U.S. Supreme Court, click on Alaska in the State Courts list, and then scroll down the State Courts list and Ctrl/click on Ohio.

Date
Click the down arrow in the Date field and select one or more dates for which you want to view cite lists, or leave Today and yesterday (default) as your selection. To select more than one date, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on multiple dates.

Note:  The dates listed reflect the dates cases were loaded into the Daily Opinion Service, not the dates cases were decided. The Daily Opinion Service updates this information every 2 hours.

Client
Type client or project information in the Client field (optional). For example, type Smith, Smith and Smythe or type Martin vs State of California.

Click the Search button to submit your search.
