Semantic Search - Weighting Scale Form |
The Semantic Search - Weighting Scale form lets you adjust concept weighting before you run your search.
Use the scale to choose how you want to weight your item, or use the Delete Concept button to remove the concept from the list.

- required
- Select this weighting if you want to always include this concept in your results. This is equivalent to using an "and" connector in Boolean searching. Required concepts are displayed with green underline and a weighting of [4].
- high
- Select this weighting if you want this concept to appear with a high prominence in your search results. High concepts are displayed in large dark blue bold font and have a weighting of [3].
- medium
- Select this weighting if you want this concept to appear with a medium prominence in your search results. Medium concepts are displayed in medium blue bold font and have a weighting of [2].
- low
- Select this weighting if you want this concept to appear with a low prominence in your search results. Low concepts are displayed in light blue font and have a weighting of [1].
- ignored
- Select this weighting if you do not want this concept to be considered in your search results. Ignored concepts are displayed in gray and have a weighting of [0].
- excluded
- Select this weighting if you do not want this concept to appear in your search results. This is equivalent to using a "and not" connector in Boolean searching. Excluded concepts are displayed in red strike-through text and have a weighting of [-1].
- Delete Concept
- Click this button to delete the concept from your semantic search.
- Apply
- Click this button to apply your changes and return to the Semantic Search - Analyze Search Input form.
- Cancel
- Click this button to return to the Semantic Search - Analyze Search Input form without making any changes.
