Viewing Cite Lists

When you select courts and jurisdictions from the Daily Opinion Service source selection form and submit your search, the list of cases displays for each court and jurisdiction. Cases are grouped by jurisdiction in the order they appear on the source selection form. You can scroll through the list or use the list of Quick Reference links at the top of the page to go directly to the cite list you want to view.

While viewing the cite list, note that:

  • Core Terms appear with those cases containing enough content to generate core terms. Core terms are important words and phrases that appear within a document. Viewed together, they provide you with a quick overview of key facts and concepts contained in a document. Core terms are not necessarily the words that appear most frequently in the text; terms selected are those which provide the best match between words important to the document and words important in the field of law. The terms selected can also include citations to primary and secondary sources of law.

  • If you subscribe to the LexisNexis service, you can view the full text of any case in the cite list by clicking on the case-name link. When prompted, enter your Research ID and password on the LexisNexis Sign-On form and press Enter (or click Sign-On). The full text of the case displays.

NOTE:  If you do not yet subscribe to this service and want to request access, click the Request Access link below the LexisNexis Sign-On form. Fill out the form to request access or call your LexisNexis Account Representative.

  • While viewing the full text of the case, you can use all features and functions of the LexisNexis service, including More Like This, More Like Selected Text, ECLIPSE™, and citation checking. You can also print the case using your browser's print function.

  • To return to your Daily Opinion Service search results, click your browser's Back button.
